Anarcho-Primitivism

Locates domination in industrial civilization, domestication, and specialized production rather than only in the state or capitalism. It questions whether complex technological systems can be made compatible with a life free of domination.

Reference boundary: Environmental concern does not imply rejection of civilization. This theoretical current does not by itself establish a commitment to violent action.

Disagreement and variation

A rejection of industrial society raises difficult questions about health care, disability, food provision, and the survival of large populations. Its accounts of earlier societies are contested and should not be treated as an anthropological consensus.
