Right Populism

Combines a people-versus-elite political story with right-oriented national or cultural priorities. It often presents established institutions as obstacles to restoring control to a supposedly neglected national public.

Reference boundary: Not every conservative or sovereigntist is a populist. The category is contested; it is not automatically synonymous with fascism or violent extremism.

Disagreement and variation

The claim to speak for the real people can exclude minorities or delegitimize ordinary political opposition. Market, welfare, religious, and authoritarian positions vary, so this category does not define one economic program.
